Hi, I’m Heidi Thorson!
By day I’m the creative director and designer for three local publications. And though I always thought I would have a career in writing (or so says my 6th grade journal), I’ve fallen in love with the wonderfully visual world of photography and spend my free time capturing the special life moments of people just like YOU!
But in order for us to know if we’d be a great fit to work together, I want to give you a snapshot into my life.
My happy little family consists of me and my two overly photogenic cats, Dexter & Archie. Anyone who knows me well, knows I’m mega-obsessed with these two handsome felines. They even have their own Instagram accounts. Feel free to follow along: @sometimesarchie and @dexterinreallife.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota is my hometown. I come from a fairly large, definitely crazy (but fun) family. Most people ask where I land in the sequence of having four sisters and two brothers. I’m number three — and because it’s a magic number, that kinda makes me the best, right?! Kidding. I’ll let you make that decision.
I’m fascinated by colorful things and if you bring up the topic of fashion, prepare to get your ear talked off about the life-changing magic of wearing the right colors based on your hair/skin/eye color. My closet no longer qualifies as “mostly black,” and I’ve never felt more confident in my wardrobe!
I love weird, cheesy TV shows, that pretty much all qualify as guilty pleasures. I still watch Grey’s Anatomy religiously. I’m counting down the days until the new season of Game of Thrones starts. I’m currently binge-watching Stranger Things. And my girlfriends and I enjoy bonding over Bachelor marathons (with wine, of course).
I won’t say no to a new adventure or dessert. And if I don’t know what else to talk about, I’ll start talking about my cats.
Let me photograph the life moments you wish to cherish forever!
On the daily: I believe in warm fuzzies — they make people happy and happy people are the best people.
